ESL Family Game

About

This is a simple game for low level ESL students. The target language is vocabulary and phrases for family members.

The aim of the game is to give students a fun way to review language for family members. The game assumes that students will already have exposure to the target language, typically through classroom based instruction. And the aim is really just to review and reinforce that.

There are 2 parts to the main game. In the first part you have to read the text and click on the matching images. When you do this correctly, a family photo is gradually revealed in the center of the screen. In the second part you have to look at the big image and click on the words to form a sentence. The main game repeats like this for 6 rounds. Finally there is a review round in which all the language used is repeated. In the review round you are show 2 people and have to click on the words to describe the relationship between them.

There is also a review section which can be used to view all the content and language structures used in the game.
